Support fiber art + Textile Center this Give to the Max Day (GTMD)!

Minnesota’s biggest giving holiday is back. For our campaign this year we want to build on the progress from last year’s GTMD giving.

This year we have set a goal to raise $18,000 to support two improvements for our facility:

  • $12,000 will help us purchase 12 “Flip & Nest” tables for our new classrooms. Not only will these tables last us for years to come but will be safer and easier for staff and guilds to set up, and allow greater flexibility to accommodate a wide range of events and needs. By making a gift of $1,000 (the price of each table), we invite you to dedicate the table in honor or memory of a loved one or express gratitude to a textile guild or organization. A plaque will be installed on each table.
  • A gift of any size will also support our $6,000 investment to replace all fluorescent lighting at Textile Center with LED. While the total project cost is $26,000, all but $6,000 is being funded through an Xcel Energy rebate, as well as support from the City of Minneapolis Green Cost Share Program and the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce. This lighting update will result in more than $4,000 in annual energy cost savings, helping us to reduce Textile Center’s carbon footprint!

During this festive week of giving in Minnesota, donations made directly to Textile Center by check or on our website below will be counted toward the $11,000 match created by our Board of Directors.

Thank you for helping Textile Center thrive!

Textile Center makes it easy to give in a variety of ways:

  • Make a qualified charitable distribution from your IRA. The IRA Charitable Rollover law allows those 70½ and older to give up to $100,000 without paying federal income tax upon withdrawal.
  • Ensure your contribution goes further by choosing to make your online gift “sustaining,” and your credit card will be charged monthly.
  • We appreciate those who can leverage their gifts through their employers’ matching gift programs.
  • Join our Leadership Circle, a special category of membership and support that provides access to special making and artist events, tours, and other special opportunities!
  • Consider joining The Athena Society by putting Textile Center in your will or estate plan, which will help ensure quality fiber art programs for future generations.

Textile Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and your gift is tax deductible. Our tax identification number is 41-1790700.
