5-week class

Jane Bassuk

Join us for this introductory-level intensive workshop series on the art of quilt making! In this five-session class, students will learn the basic skills needed to complete a quilt from beginning to end using primarily hand sewing techniques. Learn to make a four block sampler quilt with each block focusing on a new skill. Learn about the characteristics of fabric, making templates, cutting and marking fabric, piecing with the running stitch, insetting, appliqué, designing a quilt (setting blocks), rotary cutting, binding, basting and hand quilting the three layers together. No previous sewing or quilting experience necessary! Students should prepare to do some work at home in between class meetings and may want to have access to a sewing machine, in good working condition, to help facilitate their homework.
