September 3 – October 24, 2015 • Community Gallery
Opening Reception: Thursday, September 3, 6 – 8 pm

Minnesota Quilters were asked to make a scrap quilt composed of 80% scraps left from previous projects. Most of the quilts were donated to MQ or to local shelters. The results run the gamut from traditional scrap quilt patterns like Pineapples, Irish Chain, and Spider Web to radical quilts composed primarily of improvisational piecing.

Minnesota Quilters is a 501c3 non-profit corporation that runs a yearly show in St. Cloud, Duluth, or Rochester; sponsors monthly meetings and classes featuring local and national speakers; organizes four retreats per year (two in town and two out of town), gallery exhibits of member quilts, and a holiday brunch. Its 775 members create hundreds of quilts, placemats, and Christmas stockings each year through its charity sewing programs. mnquilt.org
