Porcupine Quillwork: Lost and Found, Joe Savage
February 22 – April 12, 2025
Mary Giles Gallery
Artist Meet + Greet: Thursday, March 20, from 5:30 – 7 pm
Textile Center celebrates the work of artist/quill worker Joe Savage, Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Ojibwe, with his first solo exhibition in the Twin Cities. Savage’s creative practice is the culmination of over 25 years of research, as quillwork has grown to become a grounding and self-defining aspect of his identity. We look forward to having him at Textile Center to share his work through teaching and discussion, during the exhibition.
Hear about Joe Savage and his art practice in an Art Speaks conversation with Tracy Krumm, fiber artist and Director of Artistic Advancement at Textile Center. Click here to register!
Savage is also teaching a workshop at Textile Center, Traditional Quillwork Techniques, on March 25 + 26, from 12 – 4 pm.
