Contribute a handmade fiber art scene to our community river!
This year, for our Fiber Art for All community project, we’re celebrating the Mississippi River and the many ways water connects and enriches our community!
A river grows more powerful and enriched by its many sources. The tributaries — the many creeks and streams that feed into the Mississippi River — begin their journeys far and wide. From forests and plains, from headwaters in Minnesota all the way out to distant states, their paths come together in beautiful confluence.
Just as a river has its tributaries, Textile Center has our community — you! — the many people and perspectives that make our organization and home more vibrant.

We invite everyone, of all ages and skill levels, to help grow our fiber river and contribute to a beautiful indoor river installation. Use your favorite fiber art technique to create a river scene that represents what your favorite part of the river: the waves, the coolness of the water, the living creatures, or the abundant plantlife.
STEP ONE: Make your river scene.
- Keep your river scene under 8″x8″.
STEP TWO: Drop off or mail in your river scene.
- If dropping off at Textile Center, look for the colorful paper mache dropbox! Sign our clipboard sheet to acknowledge you are donating your piece to the project, and write your name down so we can add you to the list of participating artists!
- If mailing in your pollinator, please print and sign the form here, include it in your package, and mail your package to:
