2 day class
Katherine Buenger
Create your own handwoven towels to elevate your decor and beautify your home! Learn to warp a loom with 2-3 colors of cotton yarn, following a weaving draft. Explore a new (and yarn-saving) technique to tie the warp onto the loom using shoe laces. Participants will begin weaving on the first class meeting and will be required to do some weaving at home between the first and second class meetings, to finish their towels. The second class meeting will be devoted to sharing participants’ finished towels, asking questions, and learning additional weaving tips from the instructor to help propel your next weaving project. Open to students who have some basic experience weaving on a rigid heddle.
Materials fee is $35, payable to instructor at the time of class.

Instructor Bio:
Katherine Buenger (she/her) has a degree in studio art from Macalester College. She enjoys many fiber-related arts, including weaving, spinning, ply-split braiding, button making, and braiding with Sami tin thread. Whether it is spinning the yellow pages, computer tape, or adding telephone wire to weavings, she likes finding something different and fun to do with her art. She is not afraid to break the rules and try something new, and encourages others to do the same. Katherine has taught at The Weavers Guild of Minnesota, Midwest Weavers Conference, Minnesota Federation of Weavers and Spinners, White Bear Center for the Arts, Marine Mills Folk School, American Kumihimo Society, Upper Midwest Bead Society and other venues. After teaching thousands of students, she is still having fun sharing her crafts with others.
