Colleen Kahn

Are you brand new to sewing or would you like a refresher on the Home Ec class you took in high school? This class is for you! Learn the basics of sewing in this 5-week introductory class. Become familiar with how to use a standard domestic sewing machine. Discover tips for selecting and buying fabric. Learn essential sewing vocabulary. Participants will leave the class with a tote bag made entirely by themselves as well as the confidence to embark on future sewing projects. Beginners welcome! Participants must bring their own sewing machine in good working order and should plan to make a trip to the fabric store (or shop Textile Center’s Garage Sale!) between the first and second class meeting in order to purchase fabric for their tote bag project.
