SAORI is a contemporary hand weaving style founded in Japan, which promotes a philosophy of free expression and exemplifies the differences between hand and machine weaving. SAORI weaving is not merely the act of weaving a piece of cloth; it is an attempt to identify your true self. This Zen, therapeutic method of free-style weaving without any rules or restrictions of what or how to weave can temporarily remove you from the stress of daily life. SAORI original looms will be set up for all students, so that everyone can start weaving. The instructor will bring a variety of material for you to choose from to weave with. Be ready to feel like you are 5 year-old!

Register for both sessions for a full day a weaving. Please note that the full day is 10 am – 5 pm with a 1-hour lunch break from 1 – 2pm.

Materials fee $20 — cash or check only please — payable to the instructor at the start of class.
