ShopMelissa Nellis (Stillwater, Minnesota) is an art quilter whose work is inspired by the north woods of Minnesota and her Finnish heritage. Designing with fabric, thread, and yarns has been the mainstay of her work. Always with an eye for new ideas, she happened upon a fish leather vendor and purchased several salmon ‘fillets.’ In need of a new small card wallet that wouldn’t wear out as quickly as a fabric one, she began stitching various styles using salmon leather. She became hooked on fish leather as a medium for ultra-thin, durable card and cash wallets that fit discretely in your pocket.
