Welcome the new year with mindfulness and creativity. Make a wet felted miniature reliquary to house a small trinkiet that is meaningful for you. Bring with you to Craft Night a small object of personal significance (NOTE: your object should be the size of or smaller than a chicken egg) and use colorful wool roving and wet felting techniques to encase your object into a meaningful vessel. You can fashion your felted reliquary to sit on a table or altar space or to be hung. Participants will have the option to add essential oils to their felted reliquaries to imbue them with sweet scents and olfactory memories.
Craft Night is a monthly social gathering for crafters of all levels and ages to come together in a fun, welcoming space to work on the Craft Night project. Textile Center will provide written instructions and demonstrations for the Craft Night project; however, for more intensive instruction or one-on-one support, please join one of our core adult classes or intergenerational classes.
