Riley Kleve
Dye yarn in a cornucopia of fall colors — perfect for knitting or crocheting a fall hat! Instructor Riley Kleve takes the guesswork out of color with a palette of earthy greens, woodsy browns, perfect plums, and a range of reds, oranges, and golds inspired by the foliage. Students will dye two skeins of sport-weight yarn in class while learning the basics of acid dyes, which are formulated to work best with wool or silk fibers. Try out the hand-dyed yarn while knitting the Trail’s End Hat by Brienne Moody or crocheting the Arlitt Hat Lite by Sarah Korth at home. Students will receive a small discount code for both patterns after class. After class wraps up, Riley will handle all of the steaming and rinsing work, hanging the yarn to dry overnight so you can pick it up from Textile Center at a later date. This is a great class for anyone whose happy place is working on a crochet or knit project with a mug of warm apple cider on a crisp autumn day!
A $20 materials fee is due to the instructor at the time of class, and includes all supplies needed.
