“These works come directly from my life and memories of growing up in rural South Africa. As with all of our lives, much has changed over the years, and I have only the memories of that time and place.”
– Rosalie Dace
Textile Center and Minnesota Contemporary Quilters are thrilled to present South African-based Rosalie Dace on May 18-26, 2017.
Rosalie Dace is a full time quiltmaker whose work reflects her passion for color, pattern, and texture. She has had a lifelong interest in textiles and embroidery and teaches and exhibits internationally. While she values the traditions from which quiltmaking has come, she believes that a quilt should say something about its time and place in history. This, and her awareness of being a South African artist, give her work its particular character. We are excited to host her at Textile Center to share her expertise and passion for textiles with us.
