Harness your creativity in Kit Camp™ 2020, a distance learning program to Discover, Explore, and Create fiber art!

Register now for a week-long camp and spend each day diving into new fiber art techniques, and creating projects from a new fiber art kit. Led by skilled teaching artists through Zoom, campers will:

  • Watch live demonstrations of fiber art techniques to create a project.
  • Learn about historical and modern day applications of fiber art techniques.
  • Ask questions. We’re here to help!
  • Share projects with peers and have a celebration on Show & Tell day!
  • Receive tips on how to expand learning after class sessions.

With each registration, you will receive secure access to Zoom camp sessions, a link to view online tutorials anytime, and two kits of each project (for a total of 8 kits) delivered to you in the mail (or by curbside pick up!) so you can learn with a family member or friend.

We hope you’ll join us this summer for some fiber art fun!

Zoom / Distance Learning Info

  • Zoom is a secure video communication platform used for many reasons, including meetings, casual digital meet-ups with friends, and in this case, distance learning!
  • During each Kit Camp™ Zoom lesson, students will use a new kit to create a fiber art project, while learning about historical and modern-day applications of each technique. Each zoom lesson will last 1.5 hours. The last half hour of each class will be designated to asking and answering questions through an interactive session.
  • On the last day of camp (Friday), students will gather with the instructor on Zoom for a final show-and-tell, and have a celebration with their peers!

Shipping Information

  • Shipping expenses are included in your registration fee. Your kits will arrive in the mail approximately 2-5 days after registration, via USPS.
  • Camps will close one week prior to their start date, to ensure that campers receive their kits on time. If you wish to register for a camp within less than one week of the beginning of camp, we can provide curbside pick-up for your kits–or–we can overnight your kit to you for an additional fee.  Please contact rcordes@textilecentermn.org to arrange for a late registration.

Cancellations and Refunds

  • We occasionally have to cancel a class because we do not have enough students registered. We make every effort to let you know about any cancellations as soon as possible, before the class is scheduled to begin. If a camp is cancelled, full refunds will be issued. Please help us by registering early for your camp!
  • Due to Zoom links being emailed and kits being mailed shortly after you register, refunds will not be issued. If you miss your teaching session, email us and we can provide a link to a recording of the session (after it has passed), and you can link to Zoom to watch it when you are able.

Why are there no refunds for Kit Camp?

We are sorry if you are not able to make the live teaching session scheduled for your Kit Camp. Because we mail the kits to you right after we process your registration, we will not be issuing refunds.  If you miss your teaching session, email us and we can provide a link to a recording of the session (after it has passed), and you can link to Zoom to watch it when you are able.
