Line. A simple concept. Or is it? Edouard Manet says, “There are no lines in nature, only areas of color, one against another.” Hmmm! Is a line not a real thing, but just an idea? A path between two points? Paul Klee says, “A line is a dot that went for a walk.” How fun! Whether it is in line, over the line, the bottom line, a dance line, or the party line, lines are everywhere in our language and ideas.
Please enjoy our varied interpretations of the concept “line” and maybe you will see lines in a new way!
