March 1 – April 30, 2018

Minnesota Feltmakers’ Guild invites you to Textile Center’s Guild Wall to see a broad range of felted fiber art.

In addition to individual guild member work, experience the Guild’s group boot making project. Using the wool of Karakul sheep, the members made their own custom fit patterns, laid-out batting, shaped, and hardened boots using a special wooden tool, called a rubel. Guild members plan to finish their boots with laces and soles.

The MN Feltmakers’ Guild values hands-on learning and invites interested individuals to join us at one of our upcoming meetings, to learn more.

The goals of the Minnesota Feltmakers’ Guild are:

  • To promote felted fiber art
  • Increase awareness of felt making
  • Offer a forum for felt makers where information can be shared.

The guild is open to everyone interested in the art of felt making. All experience levels are welcome! We usually meet ten times a year for workshops, projects meetings, sharing, master classes, and more.

For more information about the guild go to Facebook @feltmakersmn, or contact Leslie Granbeck at lgranbeck@q.com.

Unless noted otherwise, guild meetings and workshops are held at Textile Center.
