We welcomed artists from our program partner, Fresh Eye Arts. This exhibition, in our Library Gallery, was a part of Textile Center’s 2023 Fiber Art for All week.
About the exhibiting artists:
Dede Decker is an avid latch hook artist. She makes large-scale and smaller pictorial pieces that are inspired by cats, puppies, and flowers. Her designs are amusing, fun, and cheerful.
Kevin Conklin is a fiber artist working in weaving and embroidery. His rustic rag rugs range in size and composition. His detailed embroidery images depict mysterious and fantastical animals like wolves, owls, and dragons.
Kimberly A. Laudert is an interdisciplinary artist who grounds experiences in life through fiber and visual arts, as well as in poetry. Inspiration in her work derives from several sources: nature, the transitory state or impermanence of all things, and hope and resilience. Her needle-felted images are colorful, sometimes moody, tactile, and visually compelling.

Fresh Eye Arts
Fresh Eye Arts is a fine arts program that supports artists with disabilities. We are a service offered by Midwest Special Services, a day services provider that serves the Twin Cities Metro area of Minnesota. We provide the opportunity for artists to explore, learn, create, show, and sell their work. Fresh Eye artists are self-driven and are supported in their professional development. We provide artists with high quality materials and access to art facilities that include screen printing, ceramics, and more. Our program is designed and supported by professional teaching artists.
Artwork created by Fresh Eye artists has been sold nationally and internationally, and our artists have exhibited work at the Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport, The Show Gallery Lowertown (St. Paul), GAMUT Gallery (Minneapolis), The Textile Center (Minneapolis), SHRINE gallery (NYC), COACHELLA (Indio, CA), Galerie C.O.A. (Montreal, QC) and many other spaces including our Fresh Eye Gallery in Minneapolis.
