Join us for a special talk and book signing by Keith Recker, author of Deep Color: The Shades That Shape Our Souls (Schiffer 2022). Color is a powerful force in our lives. It is a major influence in visual and verbal communication and on the decisions we make every day. Deep Color unpacks all the shades of the rainbow (plus black, white, and pink) with little-known facts, stunning visuals, and a critical perspective on color and the nonverbal meanings it carries.
With essays exploring the intriguing facets of color, such as imperial yellow in China or lapis lazuli in Egypt, Deep Color offers deep insight into color’s effect on humans and how colors reflect our history. Destined to become a classic, Deep Color explores how color acts on our imagination, subconscious, and daily decisions.
This Art Speaks event is free and open to the public; however space is limited and registration is required. Following his talk, Keith will be available to sign copies of Deep Color, which are available for purchase in the Shop at Textile Center.
*Arrive early at 4pm to walk through the Multicolores exhibition with commentary from Keith.
