Chloe Russell Chang
Demystify the complex world of natural dye with this beginner-friendly class. Instructor Chloe Russell Chang will discuss which textiles work best with natural dyes, how to properly clean and prepare your textiles for dyeing with tannins and mordants, and how to create a basic immersion dye bath using botanicals. Students will leave class with the start of a natural dye notebook with dyed yarn and fabric samples, plus extra yarn and fabric samples to continue experimenting with in the spring.
A materials fee of $25 is due to the instructor at the beginning of class and includes a notebook, fiber samples and all natural dye chemicals used in class.
This class is a part of our Fiber Art for All: Tributary festivities – celebrating Minnesota waterways and the ways that water inspires and supports fiber art techniques. Learn more about our Fiber Art for All Open House celebration on Feb 19 + 20, 2027 here!
