Rita Chuk-Petroskas
Learn how to recreate a collage with embroidery techniques and embellishment! Students will begin by creating a small collage piece from cutouts of simple images, shapes, or words to then be transferred to fabric and completed with embroidery and embellishment techniques. This class is perfect for exploring texture, expanding embroidery techniques, and reinterpreting images through fiber!
A materials fee of $5 is due to the instructor at the time of class and includes paper for collage transfer, tracing paper, fabric for embroidery hoop, an embroidery and beading needle, transparent thread and a small mix of embellishments.

Instructor Bio:
Rita Chuk-Petroskas (she/her) is a fiber artist with a background in textile design, and I enjoy working with a variety of techniques including weaving, macramé, embroidery, and crochet. While much of my work is self-taught, I’ve also spent years learning through many classes and workshops. A favorite way to bring it all together is by incorporating recycled and found materials into my embroidery, often combining them with the thread and yarn stashes I’ve collected over the years. It allows me to make work that is unique, personal and sustainable. @ritabooshop
