Create a charming floral bookmark while learning the basics of cross-stitch in this beginner-friendly workshop. Participants will stitch simple flower motifs using colorful embroidery floss and easy-to-follow patterns. You’ll learn foundational techniques, including reading a pattern, making neat stitches, and finishing your bookmark with a fabric backing. All materials are provided, and no previous stitching experience is required.
$15 materials fee, payable to the instructor at the start of class, includes all materials needed to create one bookmark.
Instructor Bio:
Cami Andersen (she/her) is a librarian and crafter located in North St. Paul. She is primarily a self-taught cross-stitch artist, and instills a sense of joy, humor, and hygge (coziness) in her work. She specializes in custom pet portraits, large-scale colorful designs, and themes related to literacy and feminism. She is also a paper artist, using upcycled books and materials to collage bookmarks, cards, and journals. Find her at local craft fairs selling her wares, and teaching fiber and paper art in libraries and art organizations throughout the Metro area.
