with Riley Kleve
Reinvent your sweater, vest, sweater vest, cardigans, and more in a new class with instructor Riley Kleve! Duplicate stitch, also called Swiss darning, uses a needle and yarn to mimic knit stitch structures to create new designs. Turn a plain pullover into a perfect après-ski ensemble, create a cardigan featuring a beloved pet, or create a special sweater vest perfect for the holiday seasons. Students will start out by learning the basics of duplicate stitch using a practice swatch before diving into a project of their own using oodles of designs as inspiration! Students can also bring in a plain sweater ready to decorate with stitching. An ideal sweater candidate is medium weight with stitches that are easy to see.
No experience with knitting or embroidery needed, all are welcome! Some hand dexterity is required for class. Students might also find a pair of readers helpful for viewing stitches up close as you work.
Materials fee is $10, payable to the instructor at the time of class.
