Riley Kleve
Explore natural dyeing by using marigold flowers to create stunning gold tones on a silk scarf. Learn the step-by-step process for preparing fabric for natural dyes and assembling a foolproof dyebath with either fresh or dried marigolds. Instructor Riley Kleve will demonstrate folding techniques drawing from Japanese sekka (snow flower) shibori to create a geometric floral motif, or you can take a more freeform approach to create your own masterpiece. Students will leave class with a finished silk scarf ready to show off around town!
A $20 materials fee is due to the instructor at the time of class, and includes all supplies needed.
