Rita Chuk-Petroskas
In this intermediate level Yarn Wrapping class, participants will learn the twill, houndstooth, chevron, and basket weaves in their yarn wrapped creations. Students will experiment with color, texture, and pattern by wrapping and hand-weaving one-of-a-kind designs using stash yarns and repurposed thread waste. The beginning Yarn Wrapping course is helpful and recommended but not required. Note: Students may be required to sit for long periods of time and simultaneously hold an object with one hand and wrap yarns with the other.

Instructor Bio:
Rita Chuk-Petroskas (she/her) is a fiber artist with a background in textile design, and I enjoy working with a variety of techniques including weaving, macramé, embroidery, and crochet. While much of my work is self-taught, I’ve also spent years learning through many classes and workshops. A favorite way to bring it all together is by incorporating recycled and found materials into my embroidery, often combining them with the thread and yarn stashes I’ve collected over the years. It allows me to make work that is unique, personal and sustainable. @ritabooshop
