Karen Weiberg

Take your embroidery to a new level, and explore the basics of Moroccan stitchery. Learn three reversible stitches on a sampler, the history of this technique, and contemporary ways to use these traditional stitches. Using evenweave fabric, gain confidence reading patterns to create identical front and back stitches, and then design your own motif. Your piece can be made into a sachet bag, ornament, or framed wall hanging.

Instructor Bio:

Karen Weiberg began sewing and embroidering at age 7, exploring the textile arts through 4-H. Discovering counted thread embroidery fulfilled the need for her stitches to be exactly the same length. As an instructor, designer, fabric store manager, and yarn shop owner, Weiberg taught and helped customers with every kind of needlework for over 25 years. She continues to enrich her textile discoveries and was fortunate to have an excellent teacher share Fez embroidery during the 2017 Textile Center tour to Morocco. She is a member of Textile Center, our Athena Society, a library volunteer, and a member of the Weavers Guild of Minnesota.
