Join the needle felting craze! Using colorful wool roving, a cookie cutter for a template, and a special needle, learn this special process to create shape and blend color. Students will make a small, felted artwork that can become a patch, pin, hanging ornament, or whatever else you can imagine. This process is perfect for application in future projects, including in work with other fabrics and garments, for mending, or for developing into a more sculptural approach. All supplies included.

Instructor Bio:

Kaylyn Gerenz (she/her) is an educator and artist in St. Paul, MN, who started needle felting over a decade ago. She uses fiber as a main element in her professional artwork to communicate the urgency to document memories and history, and continues to explore the idea of flesh and fabric as evocative containers. She recently received her MFA in sculpture from the University of Wisconsin- Madison, where she taught a visual culture course for two years. kaylyngerenz.com
