Connecting knitters and keeping Minnesota warm for 40 years!

Our Mission is to promote interest, appreciation, education and fellowship in the art of knittng.

Building Community through monthly Zoom meetings with programming from national designers, authors, teachers and historians.

We organize in person events and meet ups throughout the Twin Cities and greater Minnesota.

Service Knitting is a priority for the Guild. We donate hundreds of finished items to local hospitals, schools, clothing outreach programs and other local organizations.

The Minnesota Knitters’ Guild was formed in 1985 as a knitting group and has grown into a community of over seven-hundred knitters. Our members range in age from pre-teen to well into their golden years. Since our community focuses on the craft of knitting and sharing knowledge our members have knitting abilities that span the entire spectrum from beginner to master knitter.

The Guild hosts a weekend long knitting convention called Yarnover. This is an opportunity for knitters to come together, share their craft, and learn from national knit designers and teachers. There is a full marketplace with vendors that range from local indie dyers and farmers who produce high quality yarn from unique breeds of sheep. Many local yarn stores also participate to connect further with the knitting community. The weekend is open to the entire Midwest knitting community and marketplace attendance is free.

Membership is open to all who are interested in the purpose of the Guild, no matter their age, race, ethnicity, citizenship status, socioeconomic status, religion, gender identity, or political persuasion.
