Get inspired by the natural world to create a fantastical hat or headband using leftover bits of fabric, faux flowers, feathers, buttons, beads, and anything your heart desires! Bring your favorite scraps and treasures from your fiber stash along with an openness to experiment and play. Let your creativity take charge as you fashion a unique headpiece that looks like something the wind could have made–an exquisite, swirling storm of texture, pattern, and color! This is an intergenerational class open to crafters ages 9 years old and up. Participants under the age of 16 years must have an adult caregiver present during class.

Instructor Bio:

Candy Kuehn creates wearable art, costumes, wall pieces, and sculptures in numerous media. Her art pieces are functional, reversible, and have multiple uses that sometimes change with the passage of time. Many works live as well on the wall as they do on the body, on the ceiling, on the floor, and on the stage. Kuehn has been an instructor and artist involved with Textile Center for over twenty years and is fondly referred to as “the dye lab midwife”, inspiring new creative life in fiber artists. www.candykuehnstudio.com
