Textile Center is expanding its roster of contract Teaching Artists to lead engaging fiber art outreach activities across Minnesota. If you have a passion for fiber art and working with people of all ages, we invite you to apply!

As a teaching artist, you will help participants learn useful fiber art skills through hands-on projects that enhance wellbeing. You will build community through connecting learners and fiber art appreciators, and inspire them to create a beautiful and unique fiber art creation!

We seek Teaching Artists who:

  • are enthusiastic advocates of fiber art.
  • have experience with a variety of fiber mediums, including felting, weaving, and embroidery.
  • enjoy instructing groups people of all ages and all levels of ability.

Textile Center’s outreach classes are marketed and contracted with organizations across the state.  (To view our current outreach catalogue, click here.) 

Textile Center’s Teaching Artists are compensated $40/hr + mileage, and receive a free Textile Center membership that includes discounts on our adults classes, purchases in our retail shop (in store and online), as well as first dibs to purchase tickets to our semi-annual textile Garage Sales of low-price materials and supplies.
