Steve Pauling
One reason older mechanical machines are being rediscovered and appreciated is that sewers can perform most maintenance procedures themselves! We will open up the “hood” and discover the fundamentals of performing machine maintenance on a vintage mechanical sewing machine. Students will walk through the steps of inspection, cleaning, lubrication, and trouble-shooting common problems for their sewing machines.

Email Steve the make, model, and photo of your machine upon registration to confirm whether it is appropriate for this class. No computerized or newer plastic “clam-shell” machines will be addressed in this class.
