Hand-embroidered napkins have long been used as everyday object all around México. Made from traditional embroidery techniques, known as Tenango, and embellished with motifs of flowers, birds, and animals, these embroidered napkins are treasured family heirlooms passed from generation to generation. Learn different Tenango embroidery stitches–including Otomí, Chamula, and Tzotzil — each with their own texture and style, and create your own embroidered napkin. This is a beginner-level bilingual English-Spanish course; no previous embroidery experience is required.
Materials fee is $25, payable to instructor at the time of class.
