Natalie Novacek

Creatively reuse textile waste and fabric scraps by turning them into sustainable quilting projects! Learn to incorporate the smallest of remnants using crumb quilting, string quilting, and quilt-as-you-go techniques. Think creatively about how to lessen your carbon footprint by upcycling strips and bits of fabric from other sewing or quilting projects into new works of art. Create beauty and a new life for scraps otherwise destined for the landfill. Open to sewists and quilters of all levels, including beginners who are comfortable using their sewing machines.

And if Natalie wasn’t busy enough, she just started in the M.A. in Material Culture and Textile Studies program at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
