Lorraine Teigland
Create a menagerie of plush toy animals based on a single sewing pattern. Learn soft toy anatomy and structure, how to utilize seam placement for adding appendages, standard sequences for constructing a stuffed toy, as well as techniques for making and attaching a variety of ears, limbs, noses, tails and other features. We will make one sampler project together to practice these techniques and participants will then pick one of three animals (cat, ladybug or rabbit) to make independently in the remaining time. Gain insight into sewing techniques for creating three-dimensional soft toy animals and the confidence to make more for future fiber projects and gifts! Open to participants with basic sewing skills who are comfortable using their sewing machines and familiar with sewing curved lines. Knowledge of basic hand stitching skills and ability to visualize spatially is advantageous! Some manual dexterity is needed for turning out fabric structures.
Materials fee is $40, payable to instructor at the time of class.
