We’re bringing back Decorative Visible Mending! Whether you’ve joined us before, or are new to Visible Mending, you’ll have a great time with us at Sociable Cider Werks. Join us for a “craft” brewery event on upcycling and mending! Breathe life into your moth-eaten, worn out, scuffed, or stained clothing items by learning the basic skills of visible mending. Using an embroidery hoop and colorful floss, learn to patch, weave, and apply decorative cover-up stitches to your favorite clothing items. Leave class with a visible mending sampler full of techniques to reference when embarking on future mending projects.
All supplies are provided. Bring a clothing item from home to mend or create a sampler on scrap fabric from Textile Center’s stash. Visible mending techniques work best on light to mid-weight woven and knit fabrics, such as jeans, t-shirts, and socks.
This class is located at Sociable Cider Werks, 1500 Fillmore St NE, Minneapolis, MN 55413. Parking is available in the lot in front of their building. We encourage participants to support Sociable and purchase a cider, seltzer, beer, or NA beverage when you come for class!
