Want to learn how to create your own, hand-stitched coaster? This digital sashiko stitching class is perfect for beginners! Sashiko is a form of linear Japanese embroidery using small basic running stitches to create a patterned background. Following along with demonstrations of the technique, students will be led through the basics of sashiko stitching and will learn about the history of sashiko. Students have the option to either follow along and create their own hand-stitched coaster using a kit of supplies, available through our Textile Center Shop, or observe the class without materials.
