Learn how to add elegant and clean lines to your handwork with this Japanese embroidery technique. Traditionally, these running stitches were used to decorate and reinforce worn fabric. Working from a simple pre-printed Sashiko pattern, experiment with different types of thread, fabric, and backing materials to make your fabric distinct with lively contrast. Perfect for the advanced beginner! Intro to Sashiko or previous Sashiko experience recommended prior to taking this course. Sandra Brick is a trainer, coach, and educator with over 21 years of experience with the Textile Center both as an instructor and former Board member. She has designed and developed 35+ workshops and courses in a diverse range of workshop topics such as fabric dyeing, design theory, beading, creative problem solving, and technology workshops for artists.
