Do you want to start quilting, but don’t know where to begin? Or maybe you are returning to the technique and need to refresh? This lecture and hands-on class is designed for novice quilters who want to make their first quilt. Through the process of making simple block that will become a 12” by 12” tablemat, you will learn topics, such as:

  • Fabric selection and patterns
  • How to prepare your fabric
  • Basic quilting tools
  • Thread
  • How to cut your fabric – using a rotary cutter
  • The process of sewing a scant ¼ inch seam – we will make a simple quilt block
  • Pressing basics
  • What to do once your quilt top is finished

Materials fee $5, payable to the instructor. **See supply list of items to bring to class**
