Gail Mollner
Weave a colorful catch-all basket from strips of hand-painted paper. Learn basic over/under basket weave, how to lash a rim onto a basket, and how to create your own colorful paper weaving materials at home. Explore the art and craft of paper basketry, and draw inspiration from other paper basket weavers. Create a basket perfect for keeping phone charger cords, eyeglasses, desktop supplies, and other small items organized. This class is open to all. Some basket weaving experience is helpful, but not required.
Materials fee is $20, payable to the instructor at the time of class.

Instructor Bio:
Gail Mollner (she/her) got bit by the basket weaving bug in 2018 when she took a willow basketry class taught by Jo Campbell Amsler. Since then, she has explored a variety of other materials for basket making, such as birch, cedar, pine needle and paper. Paper has been the latest obsession after discovering the art of Annetta Kraayeveld, Jackie Abrams, and Dorothy McGuinness. She continues to explore weaving materials and techniques by attending local and national basketry classes and retreats. She is a member of the Textile Center, the National Basketry Organization, and several basket weaving guilds.
