Origami Shibori • May 3 & 10

Fridays, May 3 and 10, 10 am-4 pm

Patricia Freiert

Origami shibori patterns are shaped by binding or clamping origami folds. This differs from itajime (fold and clamp) and tie-dye because of the precision and complexity of the folds. Learn 3 basic folds and focus on the numerous possibilities of one of these folds. Experiment with MX and acid dyes on silk, wool, and rayon fabrics. Students will have the opportunity to make four or more scarves. Materials fee $50, payable to the instructor.** See supply list of items to bring to class **
