Peg Deppe

Learn the origin, history, and basic technique of Punto in Aria lace. Unlike reticella embroidery, bobbin lace, or other forms of needle lace that require a cloth or net foundation, Punto in Aria is literally “stitching in the air.” Use a pattern from a 16th century design book to create a scalloped edge, plan and lay a thread foundation on-the-go, and make a sample using the buttonhole stitch and a simple picot. No prior lacemaking skills required. Keep in mind, this technique requires repetitive motion. Materials fee $10, payable to the instructor.  **See supply list of items to bring to class**
