More About Joomchi • March 3
Adult, Adult Classes, Featured Class
Wednesday, March 3, 10 am – 1 pm
For those who have tried Joomchi, this next-level class engages students in a deeper understanding of the possibilities for working with Hanji papers. The class will cover variations of the joomchi process–such as woven joomchi, holes in layers, and working sculpturally. Joomchi, a process of using Hanji (mulberry papers) layered and bonded through kneading, produces a strong, malleable surface that can be used in sculpture, collage, clothing, and as a substrate for stitching and embellishment. Some previous experience is necessary and students need to bring an existing joomchi for repurposing during class. Materials fee $15, payable to the instructor. **See supply list of items to bring to class**
