Mia Finnamore
ShopBased in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Mia Finnamore (Textile Center’s Communications Manager) is a lifelong crafter. A watercolorist for many years, the pandemic brought on a desire (and more time) to switch things up and explore different art forms, including weaving, collage, block printing on fabric, natural dyeing, pottery, and jewelry making. She finds comfort in the repetitive and tactile nature of pom pom making. Keeping the environment in mind, she sources her yarn secondhand from Textile Center’s Garage Sales. When it’s too cold to craft by the lakes near her home, she’s cozied up in her studio apartment with her furry “assistant” — her cat Blue.
