Knitting in 3D • Wednesdays, October 11, 18, & 25, 1:30 – 4 pm

Learn (or relearn!) how to knit with a focus on dimensional forms and unique textures. In this three-session, techniques-based class learn how to manipulate basic knitting stitches to create artistic results. Gain skills to confidently cast-on, knit, purl, increase, and bind-off. Apply those skills toward new dimensional or unique manipulation of stitches. Learn how material choices impact texture and structure. Incorporate 3D knitting techniques into future knitting or fiber arts projects. This class is open to all–beginners welcome!

Materials fee is $25, payable by cash or check to the instructor at the time of class.

Instructor Bio:

Karen Weiberg began sewing and embroidering at age 7, exploring the textile arts through 4-H. Discovering counted thread embroidery fulfilled the need for her stitches to be exactly the same length. As an instructor, designer, fabric store manager, and yarn shop owner, Weiberg taught and helped customers with every kind of needlework for over 25 years. She continues to enrich her textile discoveries and was fortunate to have an excellent teacher share Fez embroidery during the 2017 Textile Center tour to Morocco. She is a member of Textile Center, our Athena Society, a library volunteer, and a member of the Weavers Guild of Minnesota.
