Peg Deppe
Tablet or card weaving was used worldwide to create sturdy and ornamental straps and trim for clothing. Learn the basics for making a narrow tablet-woven band including how to read a pattern diagram, thread the cards, and manipulate the cards to create patterns. Gain insight into the “why” as well as the “how” of tablet weaving to better understand the structure of this technique, rather than just going through the motions of turning the cards! Suitable for beginners and those who have tried tablet weaving in the past and find it confusing. Students will need a “full arm span reach” and the ability to grip/rotate cards over and over again.
Materials fee is $15, payable to instructor at the time of class.
