Bobbin lace is an intricate technique used to make delicate openwork fabrics by crossing and twisting threads in various sequences. Get to know the tools, materials, and process of this rich art form, and take the steps to create your own bobbin lace samples. Learn the basic stitches found in all types of bobbin lace and how to read patterns so that you can continue to create bobbin lace in the future.
Materials fee is $15, payable to the instructor at the time of class.

Instructor Bio:
Anne Stepan began her work in textiles when her mother taught her to crochet at age 10. In 2000, she learned to tat from the Minnesota Lace Society and later joined the guild. She was introduced to bobbin lace, and a year later joined the International Organization of Lace. Since then, Stepan has been both student and teacher, taking and teaching classes in bobbin lace and other lace techniques, and working with both youth and adults in preserving and innovating her craft.

Withdrawal Policy
If you need to withdraw from class and you send a withdrawal request at least 5 business days before the start of your workshop, you may receive a refund (minus a $25 processing fee). Alternatively, you may transfer your full tuition to another currently listed class or convert your full tuition into a tax-deductible donation to Textile Center.
We are unable to provide a refund or make a tuition transfer if your notice of withdrawal is received less than 5 business days before the start of your workshop, except in the case of illness or health risk (please see COVID-19 tuition transfer policy here). In this case, your tuition can be converted to a tax-deductible donation to Textile Center. We will be happy to provide you with a receipt for your donation if you request one.
