Pick up a needle, and learn some stitches! Learn how to stretch fabric on a hoop, how to choose the right needles, as well as some basic embroidery stitches, such as blanket stitch, back stitch, detached chain stitch, and the French knot. You will create a small embroidery piece that can be used as a pillow top, framed picture, or decoration on a tote bag. Materials fee $10, payable to the instructor. Please bring lunch with you to class, as there will be a short break! **See supply list for items to bring to class**

Throughout her life, Susan Leschke has always had some sort of sewing or needlework project going. During her studies at Virginia Commonwealth University, she began to work in embroidery. Process, material, and design influence her, along with the mystery of creating and trusting it will all come together in the end. Leschke teaches classes in surface embroidery, from the basics to more complex stumpwork projects, where forming relationships with students and watching their skills and ideas grow brings her joy. threadsofinspiration.net
