Alonzo Pantoja
This immersive, beginner-level workshop will introduce you to coiling, a structural textile technique that can be used to create sculptural work. Learn the process from beginning to end– how to start a coil, wrap yarn, join coiling material, and finish off the work. Demos and discussion will cover formal elements of art and design including form, color, texture, and consideration of how the work is viewed and displayed in space. Perfect for all levels, including students who want to add a structural, sculpture process to their repertoire of skills. Students need to provide their own supplies for the class, and details are included on the supply list.
