Join us for this sequential DIGITAL INTERLACE 6-Week LIVE ZOOM class that presents students, 55+, with a comprehensive and interpretive study to an introduction of free-form quilting. This class will teach you the basics of piecing different fabrics from your stash in an improvisational way. Emphasis will be placed on using found fabrics and materials with significant meeting, developing an understanding of composition and color theory, and using memory as a catalyst for your creative ideas. Students will work alongside their instructor as they sample, explore the work of contemporary quilters, and make their own finished project that reflects their unique voice. In the spirit of all our INTERLACE classes, this beginning level class is open to those with no quilting experience who are 55+. There are six sequential sessions in this class, and building community through working and sharing in a cohort is a significant outcome of all of our INTERLACE classes. Students are invited to join a culminating annual exhibition for Interlace students in Textile Center’s Community Gallery, November – December 2021.
