Excited for spring? Ready to create your very own dye garden? Learn everything you need to know to start seedlings of pigment-bearing plants to cultivate a dye garden for future natural dyeing projects. Topics to be discussed include basic supplies needed, growing mediums, lights, heating pads, timing, what can go wrong, basic landscape design, and how to acclimate your seeds to the garden. Gain insight into which types of seeds to grow in Minnesota and which plants will produce pigments for successful fiber dyeing. Participants come away with a half tray of planted seeds and the confidence to start their own dye garden this season. All levels welcome.
