Withdrawal Policy for Digital Workshops
There are no refunds for Digital DEMONSTRATION classes.
In this demonstration-style class, students will learn basic processes–from start to finish–of natural dyeing with different types of wood shavings to extract colors for dyeing cellulose fiber. The instructor will cover how to make a dye bath for dyeing samples and larger pieces, show examples of the results, and discuss the potential applications these fabrics can have for home décor, apparel, and quilts. Join us for an exploration into an area of natural dyes, where the tannins necessary for the dye process are often contained in the dyestuff itself!
Supplies are not required to register for this course.

Judy Saye-Willis is a textile artist from Rice County and has lived in Minnesota all her life. Her current work in teaching, installations, and wearable art is focused on using organic materials and natural dyes from local, foraged, and international sources. Her natural curiosity about the seasonal changes of nature, color, and how things work provides inspiration. Saye-Willis’ work speaks to environmental stewardship, the choices people make that impact the human condition, and the bridges that bind us together. saye-willis.com
