Susan Leschke

Using your own photographs learn how to print on fabric with an inkjet printer. Then use embroidery to add color, texture, embellish or add context to the image. You might also add beads, buttons, found objects or other ephemera to create a unique piece of art. Students should have basic embroidery skills. Students will need to e-mail a jpeg photo to the instructor a week ahead of time to be printed out on fabric. Material fee of $10 payable to instructor. **See supply list of items to bring to class**

Instructor Bio:

Throughout her life, Susan Leschke has always had some sort of sewing or needlework project going. During her studies at Virginia Commonwealth University, she began to work in embroidery. Process, material, and design influence her, along with the mystery of creating and trusting it will all come together in the end. Leschke teaches classes in surface embroidery, from the basics to more complex stumpwork projects, where meeting and forming relationships with students and watching their skills and ideas grow brings her joy.     www.threadsofinspiration.net
